Deadzone is a first-person shooter (FPS) survival game developed in Unity. You are a lone survivor trapped inside a refuge in a contaminated world overrun by zombies. Between waves, you prepare your defenses, buy and upgrade equipment from the Merchant NPC, and place traps. Then the horde comes, you defeat it, buy upgrades, repeat.

The game is endless, waves scale in difficulty indefinitely, and the only goal is to survive as long as possible. Each wave brings tougher enemies.

This project is being developed as an academic game project for UNINTER Digital Games.


Key Features

  • Endless Wave System: Infinite waves with quadratic difficulty scaling (capped at wave 20). Bosses every 5 waves.
  • 5 Enemy Types: Walker, Cop, Doctor, Boss, and a secret PenguinEnemy easter egg.
  • 9 Shop Items: Pistol, AK47, Shotgun, Medkit, Grenade, Vest, Barricade, Explosive Barrel, Bear Trap. Each can be unlocked, and restocked.
  • 3 Maps: ForestMap, DesertMap, StreetMap — each with a unique safe zone house.
  • Building System: Place barricades, explosive barrels, and bear traps during the shopping phase with ghost preview and placement validation.
  • Easter Egg: Shoot a specific painting with the Pistol to unlock Penguin Mode.
